Phase 2 and the iApple
I couldn’t sleep Monday night, so I headed downtown to see what I could find. There were an amazing number of people at bars. Who hits the sauce on a Monday night? I headed up the hill and spent some time around the hospital construction. Here’s a shot of the work being done on Phase 2 of the Van Andel Institute (I dragged the shutter and spun the camera):
I really like those types of shots – there is so much vibration in the image. While I was doing that, a helicopter took off from the roof of the hospital. It’s loud during the daytime, but at night it achieves a whole level of loudness you wouldn’t believe. Plus, when you’re on the hill the sound echoes off all the buildings and tunnels right to about where I was standing.
Pam really likes this next one:
There are more photos from last night. Some of them will make their way onto this webpage eventually. When I got home, I still couldn’t sleep. I saw an old apple decal I had laying around, and came up with the idea for the iApple.
So, yeah, that tells you what sort of mind-set I was in at that time. Looking at that picture now, I really should have taken a bite out of the upper right of the apple, to go along with the decal. Shucks.
