Ira Glass on TBTL tomorrow
If you’re as big an Ira Glass fan as I am, then check out tomorrow’s TBTL podcast: http://tbtl.net.
I can pretty much guarantee at least a half hour of awesomeness.

Too Beautiful To Live
My favorite radio show is getting cancelled. It’s a big punch in the gut. I looked forward to Luke, Jen, and Sean (Japan’s #1 mixer!) every morning. KIRO seriously screwed this one up.
All is not lost. They’re going to live on as a podcast at http://www.tbtl.net/ .
Here’s what I don’t get: how is traditional media this screwed up? KIRO had something here they could build, but they thought a trial run of slightly more than a year was all they could invest? If I was them, I would have given it much longer considering how the fanbase was growing. If I had a show that was pulling in a demographic I needed for the long term survival of my business, I would be willing to take a loss on that for years longer than KIRO gave TBTL. The same thing is happening all over the country – media execs watching their businesses die because they don’t have the vision it takes to keep their product vital to media consumers.
And that’s why this is such a bad choice: TBTL was vital to many of its listeners. It sure was vital to me. I’ll be doing my best to support the podcast starting next week.
